"Communicating Effectively in Spanish"

General Information
This course is for adults who want to develop their Spanish in a general context.
Group size: maximun 6 - 8 students (mixed nationalities).
(A minimum of 3 students is required to start up a group. In case this number decreased during the course, students would be offered suitable alternatives).
Length: from October to June.
The School is closed at Christmas (from 24th December to 1st January inclusive). Easter (one week), and public holidays.
Level: Students should be previously tested on their knowledge of Spanish to place them in an adequate group. Tests can be carried out any day, (except Saturdays), from 9:00 to 13:00 or 16:00 to 20:00.
Course content
As the course is for people with a need to develop their Spanish in general, the content is wide-ranging, comprehensive, and very practical. Close attention is paid to the four language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Grammar and vocabulary are covered, too, whenever necessary.
There is a strong focus on developing general communication skills as well as making the students participate actively throughout their stay with us.

- Use Spanish more effectively and with greater confidence.
- Speak more accurately and fluently.
- Use a wider vocabulary.
- Understand what you read and hear easily.

Accommodation
Options:
Homestay: ideal to live the language in a Spanish family environment..
Residences: where the student will be acquainted with students from other countries.
Hotel: students are accommodated in nearby hotels.
Cultural Programme
It takes place in the evening, and its aim is activating the language in real contexts. Our cultural activities range from visiting our famous museums to participating in the widely known "swinging Madrid", a chance which enables the students to make friends and to be acquainted with Spaniards from all over Spain since, in this city, everybody is always welcome. At weekends, excursions to places of historical cultural interest (El Escorial, Toledo, Aranjuez, Segovia, etc) are organised. These visits will help the students increase their own culture.

If you are keen on painting, Madrid will fully satisfy your interest by giving yu the opportunity of visiting the three centres which make up the "Triángulo de Oro del Arte" (Golden Triangle of Art): our worldwide known El Prado Museum, the "Centro de Arte Reina Sofía" National Museum, and Thyssen Bornemisza´s Museum.
If you are a music lover, you will find different options, amongst classical, pop music and the typically Spanish musical expression "flamenco".
And most important of all is that Madrid hospitality is such that visitors feel at home and, before leaving, they are already thinking of coming back.
